Sisir Adhikari to attend PM Modi's rally in Kanthi: Suvendu Adhikari

| @indiablooms | Mar 18, 2021, at 05:19 pm

Kolkata/IBNS: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s candidate from Nandigram, Suvendu Adhikari, on Wednesday said his father and Trinamool Congress MP Sisir Adhikari will be attending Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally at Kanthi in East Midnapore on Mar 24.

Sisir Adhikari's presence will be significant as the veteran politician is still in Trinamool but has openly backed his son who jumped to the BJP in December last year.

"Sisir babu will be present in Narendra Modi's rally on Mar 24. Just wait. He may also be present in Amit Shah's rally on Mar 21," said Suvendu, who is taking on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the Nandigram battle.

Giving fuel to his possible joining in the BJP, Sisir Adhikari, who was once close to Mamata, said, "Who said I am in Trinamool? I am not aware of my position in Trinamool. If my son asks me, I will join Modi's rally."

Days ago, Sisir Adhikari told a Bengali news channel that Mamata decided to contest from Nandigram with an intention to ruin his son's political career.

The same was resonated in Suvendu's words in one of the recent rallies.

Nandigram will go to the polls on Apr 1.
