Six detained for raising 'goli maaro' slogan inside Rajiv Chowk metro station

New Delhi/IBNS: At least six persons have been detained for raising 'goli maron' (shoot down) slogan at a busy metro station in New Delhi, media reports said.

The incident occurred in Rajiv Chowk metro station.


The six men have been detained at Rajiv Chowk Metro Police Station and interrogation is being carried out, reported Times Now.

The video of people raising the slogan inside the metro station has gone viral on the social media.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has confirmed the incident.

"In reference to a video clip going viral on social media, showing sloganeering by some passengers at Rajiv Chowk Metro station, it is to state that this incident happened today around 10:52 am at the station and DMRC/CISF staff immediately handed them over to the Delhi Metro Rail Police for further necessary action," the DMRC statement read as reported by Times Now.

Delhi has been witnessing massive protests and violence over the Citizenship Amendment Act passed the Centre recently.

The violence in the city claimed over 42 lives so far.
