Panaji/UNI: Goa Police Saturday detained Curlies Restaurant owner Edwin Nunes and a drug peddler, Dattaprasad Gaonkar, in connection with the death of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and actress Sonali Phogat.

The police also sealed the first floor of the restaurant at Anjuna in North Goa.

Sonali's two companions, who are accused of spiking her drink with synthetic drugs, have already been arrested.

Sonali, who hailed from Hisar in Haryana, was brought dead to a private hospital in Anjuna.

Though initially it was reported that Sonali died of a heart attack, her postmortem revealed there were multiple blunt injuries on her body.

Meanwhile, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant pledged to punish the guilty.
