Sonia, Rahul, Manmohan detained briefly after they defy orders for march

New Delhi, May 6 (IBNS) Congress President Sonia Gandhi, her son Rahul and d former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh were briefly detained at a police station in Delhi on Friday for defying orders as they tried to march towards Parliament.

Reports said the Congress top guns  forced their way past barricades as a way of courting arrest after holding a rally against the government. 
After a brief stop at the police station, they were allowed to drive to parliament.

Targeting the Centre, the Congress launched the  'Save Democracy' rally on Friday.

"To save India from the anti-democratic Modi Govt join 'Loktantra Bachao March', from 9 am today. #MarchForDemocracy," the Congress tweeted.

The rally was launched at a time when the Congress and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party exchanged barbs on several occasions in the Parliament over numerous issues including the AgustaWestland scam.
