New Delhi/IBNS: Actor Shah Rukh Khan’s NGO has donated an undisclosed amount to the family of Anjali Singh, the 20-year-old woman, who was killed after her scooty was hit and her body was dragged for 12 km by a car in Delhi in the early hours of the New Year’s Day, media reported.

Anjali was the only earning member of the family which includes her mother and siblings. Her father had died some years ago.

The support by Meer Foundation aims to help the family, especially the mother with her health issues while providing relief to Anjali’s siblings, said a report in the media.

SRK named Meer Foundation after his father Meer Taj Mohammed Khan.

According to reports, in the past, the NGO has reached out to various causes that provide support to disadvantaged women and children.

Anjali was riding her scooter with her friend Nidhi when a car, driven by four drunk men, hit her at around 2 am of New Year’s Day (Sunday).

Her leg was stuck in the left front wheel of the wheel and she was dragged away by the car, forensics report revealed.

Her friend Nidhi reportedly fled the scene. The car took several u-turns to dislodge the body. They left the car and fled in an autorickshaw after getting rid of the body.
