New Delhi: The External Affairs Ministry in a media briefing on Covid-19 crisis on Thursday said Indian students abroad are their priority while advising every Indian stuck in varioius countries to stay put in their best interest and not move till things normalise.

On Italy, they said Indian students in Rome are coming to Indian Mission to Test before flying to India. Students are our priority, said the MEA officials led by spokesperson Raveesh Kumar.

MEA said of the 380 samples of Indians from Italy, 376 were found negative while four were found positive. "We need to focus on containing and not just rescue. Primary advice to Indians are to stay put where they are. Many Indians in Italy are recovering too," the officials said.

Indian Mission has reached out to Kish Island in Iran to help Indians, said the MEA amid reports that about 600 Indians are stranded there.
