Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday clarified that the suspicious object found in Kandi belt of Rajouri district is not an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and asked people to refrain from spreading rumours.

“A suspicious object with blinking lights recovered from Jaglanoo, in Kandi is not an IED but an electronic device with blinking lights,” said a police spokesman.

He said that the public is advised not to panic and spread rumours while the area has been thoroughly sanitised by teams of District Police Rajouri, Army and CRPF.

However the general public is advised to be cautious and report any suspicious/unattended object to PCR Rajouri, he said.
