Srinagar, Jun 15 (IBNS): The Indian army on Friday paid tributes to jawan Aurangzeb,  who was allegedly abducted by terrorists in Pulwama and later found dead.

According to media reports, the soldier was accorded full military honours as his body reached his native village for the wreath-laying ceremony.

Slain jawan Aurangzeb, who was found dead in the late hours of Friday, was a resident of Poonch and was on his way home in a private vehicle when he was abducted.

The jawan had boarded the vehicle from his Company Operating Base in Shadimarg, but the car was stopped a few kilometres away on the Old Mughal Road.

The jawan belonged to 44 Rashtriya Rifles and worked actively for the anti-terror operations in Shopian.
