Three farm workers die as tractor trailer overturns

Koppal, Karnataka, Mar 1 (UNI): Three young farm workers, including two women, died when the tractor trailer they were travelling in overturned near Mukumpi village of Kangavathi taluk of this district in north Karnataka on Friday.

More than 10 persons were injured.

According to the police, the deceased were daily wagers going to work at a farm near Mukumpi village from Gangavathi taluk.

They were identified as Hanumantha (34), Huligamma (27) and Ambamma (26).

The injured were shifted to Koppal district hospital and doctors said two of them had sustained grievous injuries. Rash driving and negligent by the tractor driver could have caused the accident. Further investigation was on, police added. The Gangavathi rural police rushed the spot and carried out the rescue operation.
