Three minor explosions rock West Bengal, 1 killed, 5 injured

Kolkata, Sept 25 (IBNS): Three crude bombs went off at several locations in West Bengal on Friday which killed one and left five injured, reports said.

The first explosion occurred in an isolated building at Indira Colony area under Titagarh Police Station in Barrackpore in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal where nobody was injured.

According to reports, local miscreants stored country made bombs inside the isolated building and  a bomb exploded on Friday morning.

Police recovered few crude bombs and raw materials for making them from the house.

The second bomb exploded in Jindal's factory premises at Cossipore area in north Kolkata on Friday noon when three staff- Sanjib Das (43), Amrito Sarkar (27) and Sagar Das (15)- were cleaning the area.

They were injured in the explosion and were rushed to R. G. Kar Medical College and Hospital where Sanjib Das was declared brought dead.

Two others are being treated there in critical condition.

Few days earlier, another minor explosion was reported in an FCI godown at Cossipore area which injured one- Janai Sk.

Meanwhile, another crude bomb exploded on the roof of a primary school building at Dauka village under Khandaghosh Police Station in West Bengal's Burdwan district on Friday afternoon when few local children were playing there.

Three of them were seriously injured in the explosion and have been admitted to Burdwan Medical College and Hospital for treatment.

However, police have started investigations into three cases. Nobody has been arrested so far.
