'Time has come to punish those who spoke in favour of enemies and terrorists': Modi's barbed attack on AAP
New Delhi/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday made a barbed attack on the Aam Admi Party government in Delhi saying the national capital does not need a government that strengthens the morale of the terrorists during a militant attack.
Taking on the AAP government, Modi said Delhi does not need a government that disrupts every developmental move taken in the interest of the nation and sides with anti-nationals and terrorists to strengthen its narrow and selfish politics.
"Time has come to vent your anger against those who took the side of militants when terrorists killed our Jawans. On Feb 8, you will have the opportunity to answer those who questioned surgical strikes on terrorist camps post-Uri and Pulwama attacks, whose comments gave the enemy grounds to attack India," Modi said making a veiled attack at AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal while addressing a rally in Delhi's Dwarka.
"When we retaliated terrorist attacks with surgical strikes and airstrikes, you remember the statements the people of this(Delhi) government gave.. and today these people are asking your votes. Did those statements make you angry? I ask you should there be anger against those reactions?" he asked the gathering.
"Should these people be not punished? Will you not punish them on Feb 8?" he thundered.
"Delhi should have a government that supports laws like Article 370 and CAA that strengthen National security. Can the politics of appeasement and provocation benefit people? These politicians can weep for the terrorists involved in Batla House case, can question our security forces to show solidarity with terrorists but cannot work for Delhi's development," he asserted.
"Right after the passing of the Citizenship Amendment Act, people are seeing how the opposition is spreading lies and rumours. I trust that the people of Delhi are seeing and understanding all this. Vote bank politics cannot ensure Delhi's development. The development will happen with the strong will power to serve the people. Do you think we could have taken the bold decisions without this attitude," he averred.
National capital Delhi will elect a new Assembly on Feb 8 and the counting of votes will take place on Feb 11. Delhi is facing a three-cornered battle with ruling AAP, BJP and Congress as the main contenders.
