Today is Mangal-Parv-Celebration of success of Mangalyaan: PM

Tumkur, Sept 24 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Siddaganga Mutt at Tumkur on Wednesday and received the blessings of Shivakumar Swamy ji.
Addressing students of the Mutt, the Prime Minister described the day as "Mangal-Parv" due to the success of Mangalyaan - "Mars Orbiter Mission." 
 
He urged the gathering to give a standing ovation for India`s space scientists who had accomplished this mission in the first attempt. 
 
The Prime Minister urged students to devote one hundred hours every year towards Swachh Bharat, and pledge that that they will work towards a clean India. 
 
Praising the saints, rishis and munis of India, the Prime Minister referred to the donation of Rs. 25 lakhs from the Siddaganga Mutt for the Prime Minister`s National Relief Fund, for the assistance of flood-affected people of Jammu and Kashmir. 
 
He said this was a shining example of our spirit of unity and national integration. 
 
Modi urged the students and scholars of Sanskrit present in the gathering to spread the message and knowledge of India`s ancient Shastras, among all people.
