Tripura budget a model of inclusive growth: CM Biplab Kumar Deb

| @indiablooms | Feb 25, 2019, at 07:01 pm

Agartala, Feb 25 (UNI) Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Monday said his government presented a tax free balanced budget for the next financial year with multiple announcements of development for all sections of the society, despite strained financial resources.

Emphasising on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Sab Ka Saath Sab Ka Vikash, the CM termed the budget as collective effort for inclusive growth.

He said the Tripura government was able to make comprehensive financial management in a year, which has started bearing fruits.

"Though state has been incurring the highest expenditure for salary, pensions and repayment of debt, we have given priority to education, rural development and panchayat, road and infrastructure, law and order maintenance, agriculture, health and development of tribals and tribal areas," he said.

“The state’s tax revenue collection has increased to 25.6 per cent in last one year under BJP-IPFT rule, which is highest in the history of Tripura. Generation of own revenue was up to 13 per cent but due to multipronged strategies for development and new initiatives of the government it has shown double digit growth,” Deb claimed.

The government has set a target to increase revenue generation by 14.5 per cent by curbing wasteful expenditure and better collection of revenue, he said.
