Kolkata, Aug 8 (IBNS): Two persons were killed and at least 25 others were seriously injured as a chartered bus from Uttar Pradesh crashed into a truck on National Highway-2 at Sukantapally near Bardhaman city in West Bengal's East Burdwan district on Wednesday early morning, reports said.

According to reports, the bus, which had started its journey from Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh on Aug 3, was going to Kalighat temple in Kolkata from Deoghar in Jharkhand when it hit a truck, which was parked beside NH2, from behind.

Two women died on the spot and after being rescued, 25 other passengers of the vehicle were rushed to Burdwan Medical College and Hospital where they are currently undergoing treatment.

The bus was carrying as many as 120 pilgrims from UP's Kushinagar, according to local police.
