Two heavyweight opposition leaders join Trinamool Congress in Bengal

Kolkata/UNI: The Trinamool Congress today announced the joining of two heavyweight Opposition leaders, Shankar Narayan Singh Deo and Chanchal Maitra, in Purulia District.

The joining took place in the presence of District Chairman Shantiram Mahato, District President Gurupada Tudu and District Coordinator Sujoy Banerjee.

Shankar Narayan Singh Deo belongs to the royal family and he started off his political career with INC where he was the Block President between 2008-2011.

He joined BJP in 2018 and became the Convenor of Joypur Block.

Chanchal Maitra was the sitting INC Block President of Purulia's Joypur.

He was also the District President of Youth Congress and a Zila Parishad member.
