Two men arrested for attacking former follower of selty-styled Godman Asaram Bapu

Ahmedabad, Sept 21 (IBNS) Police have arrested two persons for allegedly attacking a man who was a follower of controversial self-styled godman Asaram, but later turned against him, reports said.

Basav Raj and Sheetal Prajapati have been arrested in connection wit the firing on Raju Chandak, a former follower of Asaram Bapu.

The incident took place in 2009.

 Chandak, after the mysterious death of two cousins Dipesh and Abhisek Vaghela of Asaram boarding school, had distanced himself from Asaram Bapu.

He had later deposed before Justice DK Trivedi Commission in connection with the case. 

Police are  also investigating the role of the arrested persons in connection with the attacks on witnesses of rape cases filed against Asaram Bapu and his son Narayan Sai.
