Two Odisha police personnel awarded Shaurya Chakra

Bhubaneswar/UNI: Ministry of Defence has announced Shaurya Chakra for two Odisha Police personnel Martyr Commando Debasis Sethy and Martyr Commando Sudhir Kumar Tudu of SOG.

Shaurya Chakra is awarded for exemplary bravery, valour and courageous action.

In a release, Odisha police thanked the Union Government for conferring this prestigious honour on two sons of Odisha Police.

Both the Police personnel were engaged in an operation against LW Extremists on September 9, 2020, in dense forest near village Sikri in Kalahandi district.

Both put their own lives in danger and showed exemplary bravery.

"On this occasion we express our gratitude and pride for their valiant action. Both Commando Debasis Sethy and Commando Sudhir Kumar Tudu remain in the hearts of Odisha Police personnel,’’ the release said.
