Two persons killed in firing incident in Upper Assam

Guwahati, May 18 (IBNS): Two people were killed in a firing incident in Upper Assam’s Tinsukia district on Friday evening.

The incident took place at Rupai Saiding area under Doomdooma police station in the Upper Assam district at around 8-10 pm.

According to the reports, two armed miscreants came into a shop and tried to snatch money from the shop owner.

When people gathered at the area, the miscreants firing and tried to escape.

In the firing incident, an employee of the shop and a civilian got seriously injured and were rushed to nearest hospital where they succumbed their injuries.

One of the deceased persons has been identified as Jeet Barma.

Meanwhile, Tinsukia police arrested one miscreant and seized a motorcycle.

Tinsukia district Superintendent of Police (SP) Mugdhajyoti Mahanta said that, the police launched an operation to nab the another miscreant.
