Two soldiers, terrorist killed in Kashmir gunfight

Srinagar, Nov 2 (IBNS): Two soldiers and a terrorist were killed in an ongoing encounter in Pulwama in South Kashmir, police said.

According to sources, Army, Special Operation Group of Jammu and Kashmir Pollice and CRPF acting on a tip off information, cordoned off Samboora village of Pampore Thursday evening.

"As joint team of forces intensified the searches at suspected spot, the hiding terrorists opened fire on party, triggering off an encounter," police official said.

Official further added, during fierce gunfight, one terrorist was killed while two army personnel lost their lives after receiving serious injuries.

Meanwhile sources told IBNS that trapped terrorists whose numbers are not confirmed by the sources have managed to escape from the encounter site taking advantage of darkness.

The search operation is still on in the area.
