Srinagar, May 17 (IBNS) Two alleged terrorists have been killed in separate encounters with security forces in north and south Kashmir areas.

Reports quoted the army as saying that the operation is still  underway at Zoonareshi village in Kupwara district in north Kashmir.

After receiving information about presence of terrorists in the village, troops launched operation and in the subsequent  encounter a terrorist has been killed. Identity of the slain terrorist is yet to be ascertained.

Security forces suspect that the alleged terrorist killed in the encounter could have been part of a group of terrorists who have infiltrated from Pakistan occupied Kashmir last week.

In another incident  in Shopian area of south Kashmir, one terrorist was killed in an overnight encounter with the security forces. Arms and ammunition have been recovered from encounter site and a search operation is going on, the army said.
