Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to inaugurate the 2nd Young Superintendent of Police Conference tomorrow

New Delhi, July 25 (IBNS): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, will inaugurate the 2nd Conference of Young Superintendent of Police being organized by Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR&D) here on Thursday.

The two-day conference will be attended by over 100 Superintendents of Police and senior officers from the States and CAPFs.

The theme of the Conference is “Predictive Policing and Contemporary Challenges for Indian Police Forces” and aims to create awareness among young Superintendents of Police and Commandants regarding latest technologies in areas of Artificial Intelligence; Predictive Policing/ Crime Analytics/ Big data Analytics; Geospatial Technology; Cyber Crime; Surveillance Tracking & UAVs; CCTV Equipment, for effective delivery of Police Services to citizens.

Along with the conference, a National Level Police Expo is also being organized in association with various knowledge partners and stakeholders.

BPR&D is mandated to create an interface between technology developers (Industry, Academia and Govt. Technical Institutions) and representatives of law enforcement agencies through expositions & demonstrations of latest technologies/gadgets related to police modernisation.

This is expected to act as force multiplier. 

Hi-tech policing will help in building up of safe as well as smart cities, besides augmenting the quality and pace of delivering of police services in real time.

The closing address at the conference would be delivered by Lt. Governor of Puducherry, Dr. Kiran Bedi on July 27, 2018.
