New Delhi, Jun 26 (UNI): The delegates of a Professional Fellowship Exchange Programme from different parts of the United States, on Wednesday visited a Delhi government school, a mohalla clinic and a night shelter.

"The delegates were absolutely awestruck to learn from mentor teachers how using strategic tools of 'Chunauti' and 'Mission Buniyad', students who could barely read and write in Class 6 were brought to their grade level of reading in just two years," the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said in a statement.

"The delegates were happy to note that Mohalla Clinics were allowing underprivileged section of the society to seek treatment for simple but nagging ailments like a skin rash or a sore throat which earlier they would continue to suffer to save money," it said.

"At a Delhi Govt night shelter, the delegates were informed how homeless population of the city was brought to shelters and provided basic amenities in a safe, comfortable place. They were happy to note that shelter was equipped with water coolers, clean mattress, pillows and even a TV," it added.
