Uttar Pradesh: Minor among two killed as tractor overturns

Jaunpur/UNI: Two people were killed while another sustained injuries when a brick-laden tractor turned turtle in the Ahirauli village of the Badlapur area here on Friday.

Police sources here said that Pramod Singh (50) and one Vishal were going to meet Barauli resident Tribhuvan, after loading bricks from the Samrat brick kiln situated in the Himmatpur village of the Badlapur area.

Meanwhile, he started enquiring about Tribhuvan's address. Tribhuvan's daughter Akanksha (9) sat in the tractor to give directions to the house. However, the tractor suddenly turned turtle, 10 meters away from the house.

Pramod, Akanksha and Vikas were trapped under the bricks. The people present nearby came to the spot and engaged in relief work. Police later reached the spot and rescued them with the help of a JCB and a crane.

The trio were taken to the CHC where doctors declared Pramod and Akanksha dead on arrival. Critically injured Vikas is presently undergoing treatment.
