Ayodhya/UNI: 'Tretayuga’ came back to life again here on Friday when Lord Ram, along with Sita and Laxman, touched the grounds of the holy city of Ayodhya on the `Pushpak Vimana’ after completing 14 years of exile.

Anxious eyes of hundreds of devotees waited with a bated breath to welcome their deity with the same zeal, devotion and enthusiasm that the city would have witnessed when Ram returned back after defeating the demon king Rawana.

On the Deepotsav, over 5.5 lakh earthen diyas were lighted in the evening on the banks of river Saryu after the aarti.

It was the chants of 'Jai Shri Ram' which kept on reverberating in the atmosphere with the `Deepotsava’ starting at its scheduled time when the helicopter turned `Pushpak Vimana’ came down at the Chaudhary Charan Singh Ghat of Saryu river.

The reception of these symbolic forms of Gods was attended by UP Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other dignitaries.

The CM also offered prayers on behalf of the devotees and people after which the scenic reunion of Lord Ram and his brother Bharat took place bringing alive the memories of Lord Ram’s coronation ages ago amidst vedic chants, though this time on the stage set up at the Ramkatha park.

The Chief Minister also bowed before 'Ram' after welcoming him through Aarti and sought blessing for the people's welfare.

It is to be mentioned that the CM, who arrived in Ayodhya for the Deepotsav, first went to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple and offered prayers for the welfare of the people on the auspicious five-day festival Deepawali.
