| @indiablooms | Oct 05, 2020, at 09:13 pm

Kanpur/UNI: A paint factory situated at the Mandhana GT road caught fire in the Bithur area here on Monday morning.

Due to the sudden inferno, there was panic among the employees present inside and they somehow ran outside to save themselves.

Police sources here said that the fire was so powerful that there was a stampede like situation among the factory workers.

The factory owner informed the police and the fire brigade team about the fire.

Upon receiving information, the police somehow rescued the factory workers and brought them outside.

Due to a jam at the GT road, the fire brigade team reached after a delay of about one-and-half hour.

Meanwhile, the inferno spread further and because of the presence of inflammatory chemicals used in the making of paints inside the factory, the fire took a drastic form.

In view of the fire, the factories situated nearby were also closed.

The fire brigade team reached the spot and could only douse the fire after three hours.

The Senior Superintendent of Police said that a probe is on to ascertain the causes behind the fire.
