Uttar Pradesh teacher booked for asking students to slap 'Muslim' classmate

Muzaffarnagar: A teacher of a public school was booked by the police on Saturday on charges of asking her students to slap a 'Muslim' classmate allegedly for not remembering the maths table in Mansoorpur area of Muzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here.

Sources said that a video of teacher Tripta Tyagi of Neha Public School in Khabbupur village went viral on social media on Friday in which she could be seen asking the students to slap their classmate of a minority community for not remembering the table.

"On the complaint of the student's father, a Non-Cognizable Report has been filed against the teacher at Mansoorpur police station," they said.

Police sources said that in the complaint it has been alleged that the teacher made derogatory remarks against the women of a particular community on August 24.
