Lucknow/UNI: A couple died of suicide following a mutual dispute in the Gosaiganj area of the state capital, police sources said on Tuesday.

As per sources here, Mansharam (40), a resident of Siddhpura in the Gosaiganj area, and his wife Renu (36) were habitual tipplers. Both of them had a dispute after Mansharam returned home on Monday evening.

Later, Renu consumed poison which led to her death.

Following the death of his wife, Mansharam also hanged himself from a tree outside the village at night. The couple are survived by an eight-year-old daughter and a five-year-old son.

Police received information about the incident this morning.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem.

Further probe is on.
