Uttarakhand Police drives Mahindra Bolero inside AIIMS Rishikesh ward to arrest accused in sexual harassment case

Rishikesh (Uttarakhand): A recent incident at AIIMS Rishikesh evoked scenes similar to Bollywood action dramas, where Uttarakhand Police personnel drove a Mahindra Bolero PCR vehicle into a crowded ward in the hospital to arrest a suspect.

The incident was captured on video by someone inside the ward and has since gone viral on social media.

While the incident may prompt a debate about police procedures and hospital protocols, it also highlights the police force's commitment to pursuing suspected criminals, even if it means chasing and arresting them in unconventional locations such as hospitals.

The video shows a Mahindra Bolero PCR vehicle entering a crowded ward, a police officer making way for its entry.

Patients can be seen lying on stretchers, and even the hospital's private security guards are seen clearing a path for the police vehicle by moving some of the blocking stretchers.

The police drove their vehicle directly into the hospital ward, manoeuvring through rows of patients on stretchers to arrest a male nurse accused of sexually harassing a female doctor at AIIMS Rishikesh.

While additional details about the incident are expected to emerge, reports suggest that hospital staff had protested against the accused's actions in front of the dean's office and had also sought police intervention.

Further investigations are anticipated to shed light on the case, including the police department's rationale for their actions.
