New Delhi, Apr 15 (IBNS): After an elaborate roadshow complete with a march and showering of flower petals, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary Varun Gandhi on Tuesday filed his nomination for the Lok Sabha polls from Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh.

The 34-year-old Varun Gandhi took part in a roadshow before filing his nomination from Sultanpur. He had fought from Pilibhit Parliamentary constituency in 2009.

Ahead of his nomination there was a war of words in media between the Gandhi family cousins after Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi rebuked her estranged cousin brother Varun Gandhi and urged him to choose the right path.

"Varun ia a member of the Gandhi family but he is on wrong path," she said while addressing a rally in Sultanpur on Saturday.

Varun Gandhi's mother Maneka Gandhi hit back

"If serving the country is a path then who has diverted from the right track will be decided by the country itself," Maneka told mediapersons.
