Wang Jiarui calls on PM Modi

New Delhi, Feb 13 (IBNS): Minister of, International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Wang Jiarui called on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday.

Wang Jiarui is visiting India as part of a programme of high level political exchanges between India and China.

Recalling his own visit to China under the aegis of the same programme in 2011 when he was Chief Minister of Gujarat, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of such visits in promoting mutual understanding,Prime Minister's Office said in a statement on Friday.

Wang Jiarui conveyed President Xi Jinping`s greetings to the Prime Minister and said that the warm welcome received by President Xi Jinping during his visit to India last year had left a deep impression on him.

The Prime Minister said that he is eagerly looking forward to his visit to China in May 2015.
