Kolkata, Dec 6 (IBNS): A 14-year-old school student was shot during a clash between two groups of ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) at Kaliachak in Malda district of West Bengal on Sunday, ahead of WB Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's trip to the district, reports said.

According to reports, two groups of the ruling TMC were engaged in a clash with each other since Sunday morning. They reportedly threw bombs and fired bullets, aiming at each other.

Ajij Sheikh, an eight-standard student of a local school and son of expelled local TMC leader Bakul Sheikh, was shot while he was returning from tuition class.

Ajij was rushed to Malda Medical College and Hospital with a bullet wound in his belly and referred to a Kolkata hospital later.
