West Bengal: COVID-19 cases mount to 1548 with 1101 active cases, 79 deaths

Kolkata/IBNS: With 92 new cases being reported in last 24 hours, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 infections in West Bengal has reached 1548, including 1101 active cases, 79 deaths and 296 discharges, reports said on Thursday.

Issuing a bulletin, West Bengal Health and Family Welfare department said that in last 24 hours, seven COVID-19 deaths were reported from the state while 31 persons were discharged after treatment.

According to the bulletin, the state's current recovery rate is 19.12 per cent. 

The bulletin stated that West Bengal had tested 32752 samples till date, with 2611 tests conducted in past 24 hours.

Presently, 4757 persons are kept in government quarantine centres across West Bengal while 9618 people are under home surveillance in the state, reports said.
