Kolkata/IBNS: In another round of change in the dates of complete anti-Covid-19 lockdown, the West Bengal government on Wednesday said the state will not be under full restrictions on Aug 28.

The government said it has taken the decision to cancel the lockdown on the particular day after receiving requests from the banking sector.

"..several communications have been received citing difficulty to conduct business and banking operations because of 2-days lockdown during Thursday and Friday in the last week of August 2020 followed by one-day lockdown on the following Monday," a statement by the West Bengal government read.

Earlier the state government had changed the dates of lockdown in the month of August multiple times as per the requests from various communities over religious occasions.

After the withdrawal of the Aug 28 lockdown, the state will be under complete lockdown for four more days this month.

West Bengal will now witness complete lockdown on Aug 20, 21, 27 and 31.
