A woman allegedly killed her husband and spent the night sitting beside his body in Gujarat’s Narmada district, police said.

According to officials, the couple had gone out together when an argument broke out between them.

The dispute escalated into a physical altercation, during which the husband allegedly slapped his wife.

In response, the woman reportedly picked up a nearby stone and struck him on the head, causing fatal injuries.

Following the incident, she did not attempt to flee and remained at the spot beside the body through the night.

She was discovered the next morning by local authorities, who took her into custody.

The reason behind the argument is not yet known.

Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and further investigation is underway to establish the exact sequence of events and motive.

The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
