Woman shot dead by suspected terrorists in Kashmir, footage goes viral on internet

Srinagar, Feb 2 (IBNS): Suspected terrorists have shot dead a woman in Jammu and Kashmir and the entire incident was captured on the camera, triggering protests across the state.

Suspected terrorists filmed the incident and the footage has gone viral on the social media.

According to reports, it is for the first time that such an incident where a woman was executed has been videographed and uploaded on the internet.

No terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the incident so far.

The woman was identified as 25-year-old Ishrat Muneer of Dangerpora village in Pulwama district.

Police said they have started an investigation into the matter.

She was kidnapped from her home a few days ago but her family did not lodge a police complaint, a senior official involved with investigations told Hindustan Times.

Her body was recovered from Dragad area of Zainapora in Shopian district.

After postmortem was conducted on her body, it was handed over to her relatives for a funeral.

"The terrorists involved in this gruesome act made a video-recording of the incident and circulated it on social media,’’ a police spokesman told Hindustan Times.

Meanwhile, a hashtag KashmirExecutionTape is currently trending on Twitter.

Netizens criticise the killing:

Internet users have criticized the entire incident.

One Akansha Tikoo tweeted: " #KashmirExecutionTape | Killing an unarmed young girl and then bragging about it shows the cowardness of Jihadis."

Another Mayura said: "Our Army should immediately take action against the culprits of the heinous cowardly act of killing the innocent woman #kashmirexecutiontape."

One Netizen Ghansham Ahuja posted: "#KashmirExecutionTape:Those who take guns against security forces or civilians have to die. No alternate."

Jadav Ramani, one netizen, tweeted: "#KashmirExecutionTape govt should execute all traitors pro terror loby for peramenant peace in kashmir."

Actress Koena Mitra posted: "First eat your hat in shame, a 25-year-old woman was shot dead by jihadi terrorists today in Kashmir. Arent you ashamed of these rascals? Forget jobs,etc, we are co-existing with these termites, and you have been nurturing them, Shame! #KashmirExecutionTape."
