Yogendra Yadav released

New Delhi, Aug 11 (IBNS) Activist Yogednra Yadav and several others, who were detained after they protested against the Land Bill without permission on Monday, have been released on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters, Yadav said: "I really don't know from when in this nation people simply standing with a plough has become a crime."

Yadav, who spent the night in police custody after being detained  from a farmer protest, was dragged by policemen on Tuesday morning as he tried to speak to the media.

Reports said  Yadav had barely started speaking when his supporters were pushed away by personnel at the Parliament Street police station.

The 51-year-old former AAP leader alleged that he was "beaten up, manhandled" at the police station. He tweeted a picture of himself with a torn sleeve.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted: "I strongly condemn the treatment meted out to Yogendraji by Delhi police. They were protesting peacefully. It is their fundamental right."

Yadav was expelled from the AAP  earlier this year.
