New Delhi/UNI: Youth Congress activists on Thursday staged a protest near Union Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Puri's house against the demolition drive in Delhi's Jahangirpuri and alleged that the BJP was suppressing the minorities.

National Secretary Khushboo Sharma who led the protest said "the attack of bulldozer on our Constitutional ethic is unacceptable and we are protesting against the illegal vindictive politics of the BJP to suppress the minorities and poor in the country".

The protesters shouted slogans against the BJP and Minister Puri.

The police detained around 20-25 Youth Congress workers.

The Supreme Court has said it will take a serious view of all demolitions that took place in Delhi's riot-hit Jahangirpuri area after its order pausing the drive was passed a day ago, media reports said.

The top court said as quoted by NDTV, "We will take a serious view of all demolitions that took place after the Supreme Court decision was communicated to the Mayor."

The court said it will take up the case after two weeks.
