Army prepares for I-Day celebration
As a run up to the Independence Day Celebrations 2015, the Army Pipe and Drum Bands have been performing in various locations in Delhi, commencing with a display at India Gate on Aug 5. Patriotic martial tunes were played in keeping with the solemnity of the occasion. Similar Band Displays are also planned at 113 locations across the country. The final display would again be at India Gate on 12 Aug from 6.30 PM to 7.30 PM and is open to public. In addition, ‘Know Your Army Exhibitions’ and ‘Weapon Displays’ have been planned by the Indian Army at 35 locations across the country, as also at Central Vehicle Depot (Delhi Cantonment) near Sadar Bazar from 10 AM on 14 Aug. The exhibition is open to public. The event is aimed at increasing public awareness about the Indian Army. The celebrations will culminate with the Independence Day Parade at Red Fort on 15 Aug 2015.
