Mumbai, Oct 11 (IBNS): Twitter is abuzz with greetings for Amitabh Bachchan since Wednesday morning, as fans and fraternity have gathered round to greet the screen icon on his 75th birthday.

Joining the rush, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan not only greeted his senior colleague, but also called himself Bachchan's biggest fan.

Posting a note on the social media site, Khan, who is busy promoting his upcoming venture, Secret Superstar, he wrote, "To the biggest superstar that India has ever seen...many happy returns of the day! May you always have good health, happiness, joy, excitement, adventure and fulfilment. may all your dreams come true, and may your list of dreams never end. Love. Your biggest fan. Aamir.

Both Bachchan and Khan are critically acclaimed and commercially successful actors in India and will be seen in an upcoming film together.

The project has been titled Thugs of Hindostan and is based on the book "Confessions of a Thug" by Philip Meadows Taylor.

Bachchan, the quintessential 'angry young man' of Indian cinema, was born in 1942 to Teji Bachchan and renowned poet Harivansh Rai.

He started his cinematic career as a narrator in Mrinal Sen's Bhuvan Shome, after he was reportedly rejected by the All India Radio as his voice was deemed unfavourable for the medium.

Though his first film failed to earn him recognition, the Big B struck a chord with the audience with his next, Anand (1971).
