Mumbai/UNI: Veteran actor Prem Chopra and his wife Uma have tested positive for Covid-19, and have been admitted to the Lilavati hospital, his doctor said.

The 86-year-old much-beloved Bollywood and Punjabi villain is under observation by Jalil Parkar and his team of doctors.

The couple received monoclonal antibody cocktail and are recuperating well, Parkar has been quoted as saying.

Prem Chopra made his Bollywood debut with Bharat Bhushan-starer "Mud Mud Ke Na Dekh" in the year 1960.

He has acted in 380 films over a span of more than 60 years.

His soft-spoken diction in a villain's avatar won hearts.

Many of his films with matinee idol Rajesh Khanna are still popular among audiences and critics, among others.

He was last seen in a prominent role in the Rani Mukerji-Saif Ali Khan starer "Bunty and Babli2".
