Mumbai, May 2 (IBNS): Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan could not get a reply of his birthday wish from actress Anushka Sharma, as the latter has changed her mobile number recently.

In a tweet, Bachchan stated he had wished Anushka via Short Message Service (SMS) but didn't get a reply.

Later the superstar came to know that the actress has changed her contact number recently.

His tweet reads, "@AnushkaSharma .. Anushka .. this is Amitabh Bachchan @Srbachchan .. wished you on May 1st via sms .. no response .. checked they said you changed number .. sent greetings again .. love and wishes .. you looked radiant at the IPL game last night"

Replying to the veteran, Anushka thanked Bachchan for his wish and said she would also reply via SMS.

Anushka replied, "Thank you so much Sir, for remembering my birthday and sending your kind wishes! (Responding to your sms as I tweet this)"

Anushka, who turned 30 a day ago, was also present at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Tuesday to cheer Royal Challengers Bangalore, an Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, led by her husband Virat Kohli.

Anushka, who also runs a production house, made her Bollywood debut with Rab Ne Bana De Jodi opposite superstar Shah Rukh Khan in 2008.

She gained prominence on the silver screen with films like Band Baaja Baaraat and Jab Tak Hai Jaan.

In the following years, Anushka continued to be a part of commercially successful films like PK and Sultan.

She had ventured into production as well with film NH10 in 2015. Her acting received critical appreciation for her role in the 2015 crime thriller.

Continuing to play the role of a producer, Anushka made another film Phillauri in 2017.

She will be seen next in Sui Dhaaga, which is scheduled to release on Sept 28.
