Ayushmann Khurrana, Kareena Kapoor Khan may star in Meghna Gulzar's next film

Director Meghna Gulzar is planning for the next movie based on the 2019 Hyderabad rape case, media reports said.

The movie's title has not been announced so far and casting for the project is currently underway.

If media reports are to be believed then Gulzar has approached Kareena Kapoor Khan and Ayushman Khurrana for the project

“It’s a hard-hitting film that warrants the presence of actors with the calibre of Kareena Kapoor Khan and Ayushmann Khurrana. The duo has read the script and were shocked by the details of the case. After Talvar, this is another film that could shock the nation and stir a conversation about the case,” a source told Pinkvilla.

While Kareena and Ayushmann have agreed in principle to do the film, the paperwork still remains, the source said.

“Meghna is looking to take the film on floors by the end of 2024. It will arrive in the cinema halls in 2025,” the source informed.

Kareena Kapoor Khan returned to the silverscreen this year with Crew.
