Baby on the way! Samantha Ruth Prabhu confirms pregnancy, plans maternity leave
Hyderabad/IBNS: Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu has confirmed that she is expecting her first child, putting an end to weeks of speculation surrounding her pregnancy. The actress made the announcement during the success celebration of her recently released film Maa Inti Bangaaram.
Speaking to the media at the event, Samantha said she would take a short break from acting due to her pregnancy.
"Sorry guys, one more small gap and then I will be back... I'll have to take maternity leave now," she said.

Wedding with Raj Nidimoru
Samantha married filmmaker Raj Nidimoru on December 1, 2025, in an intimate ceremony at the Linga Bhairavi Temple within the Isha Foundation campus in Coimbatore.
The couple kept the wedding away from the media spotlight and celebrated the occasion with close family and friends.
Relationship rumours began during collaborations
Speculation about Samantha and Raj's relationship first surfaced around 2023 following their collaborations on projects including the television series The Family Man and Citadel: Honey Bunny.
Frequent public appearances and social media posts fuelled dating rumours before the couple eventually tied the knot.
Raj, one half of the acclaimed filmmaker duo Raj & DK, also co-directed Citadel: Honey Bunny, in which Samantha played a lead role.
New chapter for the couple
The pregnancy marks a new milestone for the couple, who are expecting their first child together.
Samantha's announcement comes amid the box-office success of Maa Inti Bangaaram, making it a period of both professional and personal celebration for the actress.
Before marrying Raj, Samantha was married to actor Naga Chaitanya, while Raj was previously married to Shhyamali De.
