Being stress-free is far healthier than stressing about six-pack abs: Pragati Mehra

Mumbai: Actress Pragati Mehra, who is seen in the show 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' says that being stress-free is paramount for her.

This World Health Day, the actress said that she would rather be healthy than stressed with six-pack abs.

“Being stress-free is far healthier than stressing about six-pack abs! Health, as I said is overall well-being. Being emotionally and mentally unstable or unhealthy is no health at all,” she says.

The actress says that it’s important to have discipline in your life. “If one has a fairly disciplined way of living, one can maintain good health. I don't drink or smoke - so that's taken care of. I don't enjoy late nights hence I get to sleep well. I don't prefer eating out at night either, so it's generally home-cooked food. But having said all of this, some changes occur with age, which aren't really unhealthy but it's like one isn't the same as one was five years back,” she says.

The actress says that healthy eating has always been her focus.

“I consume 100% home-cooked food. I also focus on eating organic food and sourcing stuff from farms. For me, all other expenses come after these basics are taken care of. I studied Ayurveda (long term certificate course) during the pandemic and realised that following a dincharya or daily routine is a blessing,” she says.
