Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma turns 31

Mumbai, May 1 (IBNS): Bollywood's one of the leading contemporary actress Anushka Sharma turned 31 on Wednesday.

Born in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya, Sharma was raised in Bangalore.

Despite having no intention to join the film industry, the actress made her Bollywood debut in 2008 with superstar Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Rab Ne Bana De Jodi.

Post-debut, she went on to play the lead role in Badmaaash Company, Band Baaja Baaraat, Ladies vs Ricky Bahl but grabbed the attention playing the role of Akira in once again Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jab Tak Hai Jaan in 2012.

She rose to major success in 2014 with Aamir Khan-starrer PK, in which Sharma played the role of a journalist.

Sharma caught the limelight completely with films like Dil Dhadakne Do, NH10, Sultan, Pari, Sui Dhaaga, Sanju irrespective of box office collections.

NH10, Phillauri and Pari are the three films which have been produced by Sharma, who got married to Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli in late 2017.

The actress was last seen in Zero, in which she played the role of a NASA scientist suffering from cerebral palsy.
