Coronavirus outbreak: Akshay Kumar announces postponement of Sooryavanshi's release

Mumbai/IBNS: The release date of Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar starrer upcoming Hindi film Sooryavanshi has been postponed over the outbreak of the deadly Novel Coronavirus.

The decision was announced by Akshay himself on Thursday.

Akshay took to Twitter to say, "We have been excited as you are to present the film to you and your family, but due to the recent outburst of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus), we, the makers, have decided to postpone the release of your film Sooryavanshi, keeping in mind the health and safety of our beloved audience... And therefore, Sooryavanshi will be back for you just when the time is right..."

The film was earlier slated to release on Mar 24.

Sooryavanshi, which is director Rohit Shetty's fourth installment of his Police Universe, also stars actress Katrina Kaif in the lead role.
