Deepika Padukone starrer Shakun Batra's upcoming film titled 'Gehraiyaan', to release on Jan 25, 2022

Mumbai/IBNS: In a little more than a month's time, Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone and actor Siddhant Chaturvedi starrer Shakun Batra's film, which has been titled 'Gehraiyaan', will be out for the audience.

Padukone herself took to social media on Monday morning to share the teaser of the film, which is slated for Jan 25 release in 2022.

"A piece of my heart…" wrote Padukone on her Instagram profile.

Though several Hindi films are now having theatrical release, Batra's film, which also stars Ananya Panday in the lead, will be premiered on Amazon Prime Video.

While many are surprised over the decision to go digital despite cinemas halls functioning nearest to normal, the decision, it is learnt, has reportedly been taken owing to the film's adult theme and some intimate scenes between Padukone and Chaturvedi.

Releasing the film on an Over-the-top (OTT) platform will help the makers to retain the intimate scenes, bypassing the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

Reports have also claimed Padukone was earlier not supportive of the decision to premiere the film on OTT.
