Gadar 2 continues Box Office mayhem, inching towards Rs. 500 crore mark

Sunny Deol's action drama Gadar 2 is inching towards Rs. 500 crore mark after putting up yet another strong show at the Box Office on Sunday.

The movie minted over Rs. 16 crore at the Box Office on Sunday and now the total collection stands at Rs. 456.05 crore

Film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted: "THE HISTORIC RUN CONTINUES… #Gadar2 is UNBEATABLE and UNSHAKABLE in mass pockets… The jump on [third] Sat - Sun is an EYE-OPENER… Crosses ₹ 450 cr, begins its TRIUMPHANT MARCH towards ₹ 500 cr… [Week 3] Fri 7.10 cr, Sat 13.75 cr, Sun 16.10 cr. Total: ₹ 456.05 cr. #India biz."

The movie, which also features Ameesha Patel, released on August 11.

The movie will soon face a challenge from Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming Jawan which will release next month.

The movie is directed and produced by Anil Sharma, and written by Shaktimaan Talwar.

A sequel to the 2001 film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, the film stars Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma reprising their roles from the first film.

In Gadar 2, Tara Singh returns to Pakistan in order to rescue his imprisoned son during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971.
