Hero 420 my first 'commercial' film in Bengali: Riya Sen
Kolkata, Feb 7 (IBNS) While elder sister Raima Sen is firmly entrenched in Tollywood, Riya Sen, who is not seen too much in Bengali movies, says Hero 420, where she is pitted against upcoming hero Om and Bangladeshi actress Nusraat Faria, is her debut mainstream commercial film in Bengali.
"Hero 420, which will be released on Saraswati Puja preceding the Valentines day. It is a light-hearted, romantic film. This is my first commercial film in Bengali after Bollywood," Riya says at the music launch of the film at Avani Mall here recently.
"Also the music part is alive and kicking with all the peppy songs recorded and that adds to the fun element of the film," Riya says.
She refers to the song 'Ei patho jodi na sesh hoy', a take-off from the classic 60s timeless track, in the film as her favourite while swaying to the beats.
Riya, who often regretted about not getting enough roles in Tollygunjue industry, had recently turned up as fictional Sheena Bora in Agnidev Chatterjee's 'Dark Chcocolate.' Her performance in Naukadubi by Rituparno Ghosh was also critically acclaimed.
Bangladeshi actress Nusraat Faria says Riya came across to her as an easy going, helpful girl, who is sweet and sophisticated while hero Om appeared as a handsome young hero, very caring about his two female co-actors.
"I felt as a princess, being pampered by all at the set. And whatever differences - geographical - of different borders you are mentioning are artificial. In my heart of hearts the country are the same," Nusrat tells IBNS.

On a more serious note, Om, who describes how both Riya and Nusraat turned to be his best friends as shooting progressed, says from playing sleuth in Arjun to Hero 420 he is open to all types of roles.
The film is a joint venture between Kolkata and Dhaka.
Directed by Sujit Mondal, and co-directed by across-border's Saikat Nasir , Hero 420 is produced by Eskay Movies.
