Honey Boy premieres at TIFF 2019

Toronto: The Honey Boy, which has been directed by Alma Har'el, was world premiered at Elgin Theatre, Toronto on Wednesday.

The film recounts the tale of how the protagonist encounters early adult years struggling to reconcile with his abusive father played by Shia LaBeouf himself both with menace and empathy.

The film tells the tale of Otis (Lucas Hedges) in his twenties meets with a car accident while shooting a blockbuster spectacle and was suspected of suffering from PTSD.

Then he is shown as a 12-year-old Otis (Noah Jupe) living in a motel with his father, James (LaBeouf), a war veteran, recovering alcoholic currently working as a roadside trash collector.

James becomes Otis' acting success and resentful that his son has become the family breadwinner and subjects Otis to insults, cruelty, and violence.

The cast of the film includes Shia LaBeouf, Lucas Hedges, Noah Jupe, FKA twigs
